Queen Elizabeth held her annual Christmas speech this year, focusing on adversity and family closness. The Queen highlighted her focus on the importance of family. Her official message was recorded earlier on December 9, 2011. In her message she also spoke of family's role for courage , strength and hardships and how families should become binded closer together to help one another. The Queen also zoned in pointers of her own family with marriage of the Prince, her husband's birthday and lately the illness of Prince Philip. In her speech she was quoted as saying: "Finding hope in adversity is one of the themes of Christmas." Mentioning also the Queen said: "Although we are capable of great acts of kindess, history teaches us that we sometimes need saving from ourselves--from our reckleness and our greed."
