I've really loved ole things since before I could remember and I'm so happy to hear that this guy has brought 'crooning' and Standards back! I've got to get his CD.
Thus reads the press release Columbia Records sent out over the PRNewswire on October 24, 2011 about Murphy’s new album, That’s Life. On September 14, more than 14 million viewers watched as Murphy walked away with the grand prize of $1 million and a headlining show at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. No one said anything about a recording contract, but we all knew it was coming.
Throughout the summer, he courted his audience with great new renditions of Frank Sinatra classics such as "My Way," "Fly Me To The Moon," and "Under My Skin." He even threw in a Dean Martin song, “Kick in the Head” for good measure. Murphy’s performances won him fans who appreciated his talent and warmed to his charm. Now that talent and charm have taken him to his debut album, That’s Life. Grammy Award-winning producer Steve Tyrell will work with Murphy to produce an album of Rat Pack hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s.
When Landau first auditioned in New York for NBC's America's Got Talent on June 22, 2011, he said, "I am here to show America I can sing." And when the music came forth, he gave his audience the surprise of their life. His version of “Under My Skin” brought everyone present, even the judges, to their feet. "I was thinking that you'd be a total train-wreck," admitted judge Piers Morgan. "I couldn't believe what I was hearing!"
Judge Howie Mandel added, "Your life will never be the same."
His life has truly changed and he can’t believe his good fortune. Murphy said, "This would be meaningless if it wasn't for my wife and children and the rest of my family. I wanted to win for them, not just for the money, but so that they could feel proud of me. I wake up in the morning and I can't believe how much my life has changed."
The new album will include hits such as "My Way," "Witchcraft," "Night and Day," "Fly Me To The Moon," "I Get A Kick Out Of You," "Something Stupid (featuring Judith Hill)," "Ain't That A Kick In The Head?," "That's Life," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "I've Got The World On A String," and "Baby It's Cold Outside (featuring Judith Hill)."

Absolutely and this is why I love listening to Harry Connick Jr's Christmas' CDs because of the ole' way he brings back holiday music with crooning style.
@Jen, yep, back in the good old music days when one could not only understand what teh song was saying, but could actually relate to what was being sung. LOL (smile)
