Brief Biographies of Brother Marcus and Sister Cecelia:
Brother Marcus and Sister Cecelia have been in the process of becoming married for the last eighteen years. They met while they were in high school together and were high school sweethearts. They are the parents of six very active children. Brother Marcus is a nationally recognized Motivational Speaker and Trainer of both youth and adults and is the new author of the highly acclaimed book for teenage males, “The Wise Men and Women Have Sent Me to Tell You.” He has also become a Hubbard Dianetics Auditor in January 2011. He is also the Director of the Youth and Adult Intervention Services and Training Institute, Inc. Sister Cecelia is an Independent Consultant for Immunotec Research and distributes the magnificent Immunocal product. This product is essentially contains raw milk in powered form. She is also a Walker Agent that distributes Madame C.J. Walker Hair Care products throughout the State of Georgia. They produce and distribute their own newspaper called, “The Youth Intervention Services Digest” on a monthly basis. They also host the popular Internet Radio and Television Show, “The Brother Marcus Internet Radio Show”. Brother Marcus and Sister Cecelia have a very active Singles and Married Ministry and frequently host chats and discussions. Both Brother Marcus and Sister Cecelia are blessed to be extremely talented presenters that will offer practical and inspirational information to help your marriage. They also were the facilitators of the highly successful 2010 Marriage Retreat that was held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Who is the 2nd Annual 2001 Marriage Conference for? We’ve all heard the frightful statistics on marital failure these days – some of us to the point of growing numb. But what still shocks people is that in the face of risky odds, the majority of married couples in the black community have received very little serious preparation or guidance to keep a lifelong commitment and build a happy marriage. In fact, less than a fifth of all marriages in America are preceded by some kind of formal marriage preparation. Therefore the 2011 Marriage Retreat is for all brothers and sisters who would like advanced relationship skills to help them to continue to stay in the process of “getting married”.

The Workshops: The workshops will once again be very hands on and very, very interactive! Each workshop will be fun, exciting and very introspective. We will absolutely stay on topic during each workshop! We are going to look at the right way and the wrong way to approach the various situations that arise between couples in the process of marriage! We are striving to make you leave this conference 100% renewed and strengthened in your resolve to continue to fight for your marriage! Sunday November 27, 2011 - Port Canaveral - Depart at 4:00 pm Free Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Dinner Time!: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Note: “Although we will be aboard this ship with many other people and their families, we will eat all of our meals together. This is our time to enjoy absolutely scrumptious and delicious meals, to get to know the other Marriage Retreat participants on a much deeper and personal level, get reacquainted with our spouses, and to laugh and enjoy the after dinner entertainment… You deserve to sit back, relax and smile after a very difficult and exhausting year!” Marriage Retreat Mixer: 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (After prayer, the 2011 Marriage Retreat participants, will gather in our workshop room and take the time to meet and greet one another and enjoy a few group activities. Don’t you dare try to stay on the boat! Just be back by 4:00 p.m. because the Ship will leave you! Dinner Time!: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Workshop Times: 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (After prayer, Marriage Retreat participants will engage in an activity called, “How strong is my marriage in 2011? Can “We” Survive? It is estimated that 2 million couples will become divorced in 2012. Will your marriage be one of these casualties? Are we practicing ‘love building’ or ‘love busting’ behaviors in our marriages and what difference does it make? All couples will take a very thorough look at the vital signs of their marriage and access the health of their union.) What do successfully married couples do in their marriages that unsuccessfully married couples don’t do or won’t do in their marriages?) Wednesday November 30, 2011 - Nassau - Depart at 6:00 am - "Fun Day" at Sea Workshop Times: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (After prayer, the 2011 Marriage Retreat participants will engage themselves in a workshop called, “Defeating Selfishness in the Marriage.” Is the root of the problem in your marriage selfishness? Has the spiritual disease of selfishness infected your marriage? Are you making selfish demands on your spouse or is your spouse making selfish demands on you? Each participant will complete a ‘Selfishness Checklist’ that will help them to see if they have become mastered by their own selfishness.”) Free Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Workshop Times: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (After prayer, the workshop participants will engage themselves in a workshop called, “There is no relationship without Communication. It is estimated that 30% to 50% of married couples are mutually abusive, or respond to verbal or emotional abuse with like abuse. It’s little wonder that so many marriages are dysfunctional as we head into 2012. Do you have any negative communication patterns or attitudes? Are you a good communicator to your spouse what your needs are? This workshop will really help participants to express themselves better to their mates.”) Free Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Dinner Time!: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Workshop Times: 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (In this concluding workshop, after prayer, we will celebrate our marriages and think on the kind of marriages we, with the help of Almighty God, will usher in to the world in 2012. We will set some attainable goals for the next year (2012) and learn where the 3rd Annual Marriage Retreat will take place!
