The head of the Guttmacher Institute said the abortion rate among blacks can be lowered by contraception and s*x education.
Sharon Camp, the president and CEO of the institute, made the claims in a New York Times letter to the editor published yesterday. The Guttmacher Institute is the research arm of Planned Parenthood, one of the leading providers of abortion in the U.S.
Day Gardner, president of the National Black Pro-Life Union, said it’s not a matter of “handing out c*ndoms or contraceptives.”
“It’s a matter of moral responsibility,” she said, “to teach our children moral responsibility, and that that’s not happening.”
