What a Great Testimony: In Memory of the Late Brother Walter Hawkins (406 hits)

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:58v
Just as Brother Hawkins did, God expects you and me to be productive. What a great example we have of this in our Late Brother Hawkins.

First Corinthians 15:58 tell us to "be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...." And what exactly does "abounding in the work of the Lord" mean? Brother Hawkins was always actively looking for ways to serve God and serve others. He was so busy thinking about what he could do next for God's people and the Kingdom that he had little time to think about himself, worry, and become discouraged.

Today let the legacy of our dear sweet brother challenge each and everyone of you to go out of your way to serve someone. And don't just do it to do it, but let that person know you're helping them out because your service pleases the Lord you love. It will be a great testimony of a life that's sold out for Christ just as Pastor Walter was. Look for ways to serve and love others today...and every day just like Brother Hawkins did.

Although he has Gone Up Yonder, his legacy shall live on. Rest in peace brother.

Thanks Spirit for reading and commenting on this blog in memory of our late brother. I was able to watch his homegoing service yesterday via streaming live webcast. I didn't truly know how much he loved people and helped so many thru his music. Originally the blog was a devotion, but I felt inspired to make it a tribute to Brother Walter. Yes we all need to "Reach One, Teach One".
