This week as I was sitting in planning sessions, the Lord took that opportunity to re-teach me a lesson. He took me back to Eccl. 9:10-11. Read it when you get a chance. I'll summerize it here. Whatever you have been given to do, do it to the best of your ability, for the race is not given to the obvious. For time and chance happens to us all.
The core of the lesson here is that "the race is not given to the obvious." I was sitting amongst people who have been in the gospel music industry a few years less than I have been alive. Yet as the discussion went forth, there appeared to be things that I knew as a new label that they didn't know. At first, I thought maybe I should have eaten before I came to the meeting so that my comprehension would have been on point. But lo and behold, as they kept talking, my comprehension was dead on the money.
The Lord said to me, "You have put off doing things because you felt you didn't know enough. You have delayed because the mountain I told you to climb seems so high. You have often uplifted people, and down played yourself because you thought they were more anointed than you. Doing this has caused you to be in lack. Go back and read Eccl. 9:10-11."
10Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
11I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
The Lord said, "I have windows of opportunity that open and shut eternally. If you do what I tell you, you will find yourself constantly at one of the open windows. It has nothing to do with what you know, or what you think someone else has. I, the Lord have designed TIME and CHANCE to come together to meet you."
I know there are those of you who are always obedient to what the Lord says and you are flowing in the blessings of God. But is there anyone like me, who has fallen short? Who are not where you should be because you delayed, came up with excuses, felt like it's just little you against a huge world?
God had to straighten me up this week. Get me back in line. He said, "Trust in what I taught you. Believe in where I place you. You've missed a couple of your windows of opportunity, but I AM a restorer, Your latter shall be greater than the former!" Hallelujah!!!!!!
