Free De-escalation Training
This training will increase knowledge and understanding of how to identify when an individual has escalated or is in crisis. It will provide steps and actions to de-escalate the situation, as well as available community resources Strategies to defuse, soothe, or support a person in need, as well as strategies for self-care, will also be discussed.
This free, public training will be held via Zoom.

NAMI Greater Houston seeks potential candidates to teach our evidence-based, life-changing programs. We welcome family members of those diagnosed with a mental health condition to join one of our NAMI Family-to-Family classes. We offer online classes, best practices, crisis planning, resources, and support for those who care for someone diagnosed with a mood disorder, psychosis, or related disorder.
Our courses are led by trained facilitators who are also family members of adults living with mental health conditions. We are here to help.

NAMI Family & Friends Virtual Class
What is NAMI Family & Friends? NAMI Family & Friends is a free 4-hour seminar that informs people who have loved ones with a mental health condition how to best support them. It’s also an opportunity to meet other people in similar situations and gain community support.
This program is open to family members, friends, neighbors, advocates, and anyone interested in learning more about mental health conditions and how to support those impacted by diagnoses. We offer this program in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. After attending and completing the classes, you are welcome to join us and become a certified leader.
