Allen University will be hosting the 12th Annual Richard Allen Awards/ UNCF “A Mind is … “ Gala on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center from 6:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The purpose of the Gala is to raise scholarship funds for deserving students to attend Allen University. This Gala will include a silent auction, dinner, great music, networking opportunities and dancing. The Richard Allen Award is named in honor of African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church founder and Allen University namesake, Richard Allen. Individual tickets for this fundraising event are $200 with tables starting at $2000. Sponsorships that include auction items are welcomed.

Allen University has been a UNCF member institution since April 2005. Each year UNCF provides college scholarships for more than 60,000 young people from low and moderate income families. Since its founding in 1944, the UNCF has raised more than 3.6 billion dollars to help more than 400,000 students earn a college degree.
