The State of Connecticut, Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) is currently recruiting for Human Rights and Opportunities Trainee position based in our legal division located in Hartford, CT.
Position Highlights:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
First (1st) shift
Monday - Friday
8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
Central Office - Hartford, CT
Please Note:
In this role, we will have you learn on the job and at the end of a two-year training program, you will have a target class of Human Rights And Opportunities Representative (HRO Representative). This position is to fulfill the requirements of Public Act 21-32, the Clean Slate Act.
The Role:
As an Human Rights and Opportunities Trainee, we will guide you in learning:
How to develop, review, implement, and monitor specific remedies, programs, and projects crafted to promote equal opportunity, affirmative action, and intergroup relations.
To perform enforcement and investigatory work, including investigating discriminatory practice complaints.

Qualifications & Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of experience involving the protection of human rights and examination of social problems of protected classes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
