Quality Operations Manager, Operational Excellence
What You Will Achieve
The mission for the Quality Operations Operational Excellence (OpEx) team is to ‘Inspire a best-in-class culture of continuous improvement that empowers colleagues and enables processes to function efficiently and effectively’. This position is expected to support the delivery of that mission for the Rocky Mount Quality Operations (QO) organization.
The Quality Operations Manager, OpEx will be assisting with building capability through Lean Six Sigma. This manager will partner with the Site OpEx team in supporting the deployment and maturity of Pfizer Production System (IMEx) within the Quality Operating units to resolve critical business needs.
The Operational Excellence Manager will report to the Quality Business Ops & CI Lead and will network with SMEs to drive a strategic Continuous Improvement Culture for the QO Team.
How You Will Achieve It
Support the overall process to Identify/develop, measure and monitor metrics which are leading indicators of performance for QO/EHS center functions and at site to ensure performance is sustained
Operate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the Pfizer Production System principles. Responsible for training, coaching, and building team capabilities towards qualification of the area and certification of the department holistically.
Manage Site Quality Operation Metrics for T3 and T4.
Partner with QO Operating units to address their largest sources of loss by utilizing operational excellence tools and methodologies (lean, six sigma, innovation etc.) to solve critical business challenges aligned with QO performance goals.
Leverage Quality Intelligence information and data analytics to challenge conventions, Champion Bold Thinking to improve QO performance.
Support the vision of every colleague, every day, improving their work processes through IMEx and other related OpEx programs for the QO organization.
Performs data analysis and complete health checks/maturity assessments of the Pfizer Production System in partnership with Site OpEx team.
The successful Candidate must work effectively with other site teams and above site teams. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent behaviors and built an inclusive, team-oriented environment with the department, and the network.
Qualifications & Requirements Qualifications
Must-Have
Must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience
OR an Associate's degree with eight years of experience;
OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience;
OR a Master’s degree with more than three years of experience;
OR a Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience.
Experience in a technical role in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in process improvement methodologies, project management and digital applications.
Previous people leadership experience preferred and experience leading the development and technical growth of colleagues to support business transformation.
Strong knowledge of quality and manufacturing operations
Proven ability to lead organizational change.
Strong analytical and strategic skills with experiencing solving complex and unique problems
Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across PGS functions and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong proficiency in Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) or other lean manufacturing approaches
Experience in managing projects that require critical thinking, collaborative approaches; innovation; strong analytical skills; ability to understand business issues and processes
Experience in leading/influencing internal and external stakeholders

Nice-to-Have
Six Sigma Black Belt or Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred
Knowledge of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), and manufacturing procedures and standards
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Travel occasional.
