Department Overview
This position is for a software engineering summer internship at our design center located at the University of Illinois - Research Park in Champaign, IL.
Job Description
This summer internship will focus on full-stack software development on applications that are part of our mission critical and business critical software solutions portfolio.
Desired skills (not pre-requisites for hire):
Team software development using Agile practices
Microservices-based software architecture and containerization
Security concepts such as authentication, access control, authorization, cryptography, least privilege.
Cloud-based software development and devops experience
Internship is fully in-person. Work will be in-office at our Champaign office for the entire 12-week internship. There is no option for remote work in this internship.
Basic Requirements
Must be pursuing a BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar discipline at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Only UIUC students are eligible for this internship.
Must have completed CS 225 (Data Structures) prior to the start of the summer. internship.
Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students)
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency and creativity in problem solving.
