Job Description
Assistant Director of Game Operations, Championships and Events
The position of Assistant Director of Game Operations, Championships and Events is to primarily assist the Assistant Director of Athletics/Game Operations, Championships and Events with all event and facility operations as well as the additional needs of the Athletic Facilities, Game Operations and Championships department. The Assistant Director of Game Operations, Championships and Events works closely with both internal and external constituents, including Duke University campus, Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA officials as well as Duke University Athletics coaches, staff, and guests.
Essential Functions:
Serve as primary game operations manager for athletic programs as assigned - Field Hockey, Men’s Golf, Swimming and Diving, Wrestling, Men’s & Women’s Tennis and Rowing
For assigned sports coordinate all NCAA and ACC Championship events hosted on campus, including bid submission, financial reports, securing hotel contracts, etc.
Assist with development and distribution of operational documents in support of assigned sports and Football, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball
Assist with Emergency Medical Response and Emergency Action Plans, including Severe Weather Operations plan management and communication
Oversight and management of operational budget for assigned sports and assist with department operating budget invoice processing and management.
Assist with game operations for Football, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball.
Assist in planning and operation of camps, outside events, and non-game day athletic events as assigned,
Assist with athletic facility maintenance, upkeep, and renovation projects as assigned
Assist with facility scheduling through Virtual Event Management Systems software
Assist with credential and parking pass creation, distribution, and maintenance
Other duties as assigned by the Deputy AD, Assistant AD, Director or Associate Director of Game Operations, Championships, and Events
Qualifications & Requirements Education
Work requires organization, communication and comprehension skills generallyacquired through two years post secondary education.
Experience
Work requires the ability to plan, implement and coordinate activities OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involved in building management and related ancillary operations generally acquired through three years related experience.
