Role and Responsibilities

Receives, processes, inventories, inspects, and distributes materials that arrive at the receiving dock. Clerk uses powered industrial truck equipment and forklifts to move large crates. Scans packages into tracking system and ensures accountability of all incoming and outgoing packages. Handles paperwork and problems solves for missing documentation or delivery information.

  • Unloads trucks either by hand or using powered equipment and forklifts.
  • Delivers shipments around the facility.
  • Scans packages into and out of receiving area.
  • Provides customer service for receiving area.
  • Researches discrepancies in packages and finds resolutions.
  • Identifies owners of shipments and coordinates for onward movement of material.
  • Coordinates, prepares, handles, and processes, outbound shipments as needed.
  • Trains and assists in the training of other team members.
  • Logs packages into trackers, uses trackers to identify issues, and tracks issues to completion.
  • Monitors inventory and flow of materials into and out of receiving area, ensuring timely removal and pick-up of materials.
  • Escalates issues that are unable to be resolved.
  • Assists with projects and area improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with developing and validating new procedures and updating existing procedures.
  • Makes recommendations to process improvements.
  • Resolves issues within job area.
  • Cleans, organizes, prepares, and removes hazards in the receiving area.
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Work days and hours: 1st -Shift, Mon - Fri, 8am-5pm.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years shipping and receiving experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel.
  • Data Analysis.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Training and procedural development.
