Engineer II, Software Analysis Engineering for Multiple Openings

Position Summary

Responsible for the 4G/5G System Test with emphasis on the RAN CP and OAM features.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for the 4G/5G System Test with emphasis on the RAN CP and OAM features. Perform complex system verification, and customer support of Samsung 4G/5G RAN Equipment including virtual EMS, vRAN. Provide technical guidance to the junior team members to ensure deliverables are met. Perform complex system verification, and customer support of Samsung 5G RAN Equipment including virtual EMS, vRAN. Perform feature validation, interoperability testing, field evaluation to get product acceptance from customer. Aid in product & feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product & SW releases. Ensures that customer commitments are achieved according to project plan. Work with team members to prepare test plans/cases and execute to validate RAN CP/OAM functionality. Interface proactively with Product/Technology Engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Responsible for analyzing the customer requirements, developing test strategy for features and functionalities, converting customer requirements into test plans and detailed test procedures. Educate our customers on Samsung's new products and services both individually and in a team environment. Ensures that customer commitments are achieved according to plan. Work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross- functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product rollouts and developments.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. Experience must include: call flow knowledge of 5G/LTE RAN network architecture; LTE/NR product and interface testing, and development of test plan and test cases for software features and enhancements; mobility management and mobile broadband radios and inter-working between 4G and 5G; 5G/LTE protocol stacks and technology; PC and UNIX Workstation experience in a LAN/WAN systems environment; and RF test equipment including signal generator, spectrum analyzer, and air interface protocol analyzer. 10% domestic travel required. In lieu of a Master's degree and 2 years of experience, employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the skills set forth above.
