Sr. Manager, Business Development - Utilities: Gas, Electric, Water, Telco (Remote)

Role and Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager of Business Development will be responsible for analyzing sales trends, historical performance and account team priorities to create strategy, national promotions and programs. Maximize Channel performance by identifying historical national and RTM specific sales trends by device, lifecycle, segment and channel/carrier. Identify opportunities for alternate growth and develop initiatives to support. Partner with product / marketing teams and third party partners to identify.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify market and customer issues and trends, competitive analysis, sales, manufacturing issues and trends, changes in industry trend, new technologies.

  • Develop sales forecasts and models to create promotional plan

  • Engage other BD's and align on sales forecasts and models to develop national, segmented promotional strategy

  • Align with carrier/channel product teams to create joint value propositions and create solution bundles

  • Support development and management of program contract supplements and/ or term sheets

  • Effective communication and management between customer and internal finance departments

  • Maintain status report of promotional program activity including CORES status and payment status

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Advanced Excel Skills w/ ability to perform Financial Modeling and proficiency in PowerPoint

  • Strong financial and general accounting knowledge

  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company

  • Ability to recognize opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies

  • Ability to work independently, while maintaining an organized tracker of projects, programs and promos

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business related financial discipline required.

  • 12-15 years Business development experience preferably in the transportation, logistics, supply chain, or utilities verticals.

  • 5+ years of financial and/or accounting experience required.

  • Strong organizational skills and proactive problem solving

  • Experienced in Tableau

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company.

  • Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.

  • Review detailed product development, marketing documents and media materials as needed.

  • Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels.

  • Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve customer business objectives, personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications.

  • The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, based on sometime vaguely defined objectives.

Necessary Skills and Attributes

Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, directors and managers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents. Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience. Ability to support a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements. Assist in and if needed direct the Samsung team in lab and field trials related to introduction of products sold to the customer.

Physical/Mental Demands

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC's, printers, copiers, faxes and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position.

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Colorado is expected to be between $161,500 and $180,500, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
