Samsung Technical Training Center Manager (remote)

Position Overview:

Primary purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Samsung Technical Training Centers. This is to include management of the on-site trainers and administrative staff as well as the training curriculum. There are currently 3 Training Centers; New Jersey, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage the three trainers and administrative assistants at the three current training center locations.

  • Manage training schedule of all classes held at the Training Centers.

  • Creation and implementation of training curriculum for all Training Center courses based on service network needs.

  • Execute changes based on audit findings from direct management for employees, facilities and training methods.

  • Oversee all communication to our Authorized Service Centers from the Training Center administrative staff.

  • Communication with authorized service centers around scheduling of training events

  • Sharing and collecting important data regarding current KPI trends and improvements with technicians and management

  • Review and create content based on field network needs

  • Identify improvements and execute change for training courses

  • Report weekly on training activities to include attendance and synopsis of events

  • Creation of training courses to include video production

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 5+ years of related work experience

  • 5+ years of appliance repair or appliance repair training experience

Necessary Skills and Attributes:

Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, directors and managers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents. Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience. Ability to support a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements. Assist in and if needed direct the Samsung team in lab and field trials related to introduction of products sold to the customer.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to create a comprehensive training plan based on course needs

  • Skills in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to create comprehensive reports based on activities

Physical/Mental Demands:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, could be up to 100+ pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC's, printers, copiers, faxes and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel of up to 50% is required within the domestic US
