Job Title: Lab Coordinator, Quality Control

What will you do?

Lab Coordinator must apply skills to perform the following duties:

  • Receive/pick samples from Manufacturing or courier deliveries for QC testing or, and shipments.
  • Works closely with the QC team to support customer inquiries, discrepancies, inventory maintenance and database updates.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is regularly maintained through scheduled PM’s/calibrations
  • Responsible for using an inventory management system for data entry, sample tracking, and management of samples.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is regularly maintained through scheduled PM’s/calibrations
  • Update QC, SOPs and Record forms to align with current laboratory practices and improvements
  • Performs QC Retains consolidation and modernization projects
  • Perform cycle counts and address discrepancies
  • Participates in process improvement activities
  • Support Laboratory logistics as needed
  • Assures compliance to cGMP parts 210 and 211 and company quality systems.
  • Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), facility safety guidelines, and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requirements which may include compliance with cGMP CFR parts 210 and 211 where applicable

  • May make deliveries to clients as required
  • May be required to travel to other facilities to meet business needs
  • Other duties may be assigned

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor's in Life Sciences' or similar relevant field, with Lab coordinator experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

This position largely interacts with different levels of internal personnel. That interaction requires good communication skills and customer service skills. Efficiency in this role also requires some knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control. The job encounters recurring work situations of a routine nature where recognized deviation from accepted practice is required. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules. This position requires the individual to be ready to start work timely daily and maintain strong attendance performance. The incumbent normally receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.

  • Prefer work experience with data entry, shipping/receiving, sample management.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant distribution experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer prior experience in pharmaceutical production or inspection (cGMPs).
  • Prefer proficiency in cGMP requirements as they relate to holding and distributing finished pharmaceuticals and biological specimens.
  • Prefer knowledge of Universal Precautions, general laboratory and quality assurance/control.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a cold environment with exposure to dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous, marked changes in temperature.
  • Must use personal protective equipment and to carry out safety protocols.
  • Have the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, and push up to 70lbs.
  • Process and handle materials frozen on dry ice (-78c) or liquid nitrogen (-196c).
  • Work in walk-in Freezers or refrigerators periodically for up to 5 hours per day.
