Publicity Assistant
Liveright Publishing Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary and imprint of W.W. Norton & Company, is seeking an assistant to support the Senior Director of Publicity and Director of Publicity. This is a full-time, entry level position.

Essential job responsibilities include:
• Assisting publicists on promotional campaigns for front list titles.
• Overseeing paperback promotion.
• Providing support for operational responsibilities of the Director of Publicity (list planning, budgets, metadata review, department calendar).
• Developing press materials and coordinating pre-publication review mailings (both digital and physical).
• Processing review requests and updating media database.
• Collecting and circulating press clips.
• Maintaining archive of review and media coverage.
• Processing invoices and expenses related to book tours and promotional campaigns.
• Helping publicists compile tour schedules and booking arrangements.
• Researching comparative titles and related media.
• Coordinating departmental deadlines for seasonal planning materials.
• Ensuring author requests and media queries are promptly responded to.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills.
• Interest in systems, project management, and database organization.
• Experience with promotional copy is encouraged.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software strongly encouraged.
• Strong interest in serious non-fiction and literary fiction.
• Must be able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.
• Must be able to develop rapport and relationships with all levels of employees. Must be seen as knowledgeable and capable of handling sensitive, critical information.
• Must be proactive, flexible and adaptive in a rapidly changing environment and adjust with a “can-do” attitude.
• Must be self-directed and independent.
• Must have good time management skills, be organized, and be capable of multi-tasking across departments, activities, and projects.
• Must be detail-oriented, making sure that all aspects of their daily activities are handled with accuracy, with minimal mistakes.
• Mastery of email and calendar management tools, specifically Outlook.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Interest in and familiarity with Twitter, Tik Tok, and Instagram strongly encouraged.
