Contracts and Grants Administrator
This Grant and Contract Administrator is responsible for all activities associated with the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) contract research administration, and reports directly to the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies.
The position works directly with faculty and graduate students, and requires substantial knowledge of granting resources and agencies in order to interpret, communicate and advise regarding venues of resource opportunities and requirements.
The position serves as a college liaison with NCSU Office of Technology Transfer and Industry Research, the Office of Sponsored Programs and Regulatory Compliance Services, the Office of Contracts and Grants, as well as liaison to external offices and agencies that interact with the College in matters dealing with research administration.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required qualifications: Knowledge/experience in research proposal development and submission processes to funding agencies; Ability to understand and interpret guidelines, rules and regulations, and analyze policies and procedures relevant to funding agencies; Proficiency in written and verbal communication with a diverse constituency; Working knowledge of the following or similar software’s: PINS , PAR, RADAR, PSFinancials, PSHR, TEARS, Grants.gov, Fastlane, etc.; and Ability to prioritize during heavy workloads, shifting priorities, and pending deadlines.
Preferred qualifications: Three years in a research administrative related area; Advanced degree in related field; Certification Research Administrator (CRA); Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of clients and colleagues; Ability in the fiscal and administrative management of complex agreements and relationships with external sponsor/funding agencies Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) (or similar software); and Experience in contracts and grants proposal review and oversight.
