Assistant Professor – Counselor Education and Supervision
The Department of Counseling and Human Services in the College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for an assistant professor tenure-track faculty position in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling program. The workload for this teaching 5 courses per academic year (2/3 teaching load; in addition to counseling courses, undergraduate courses in human services are also available; summer teaching opportunities may also available); maintaining an advising caseload of graduate and undergraduate students; supervising practicum and internship students; engaging in research; and providing service to support the department, college, and university. This position is mostly on-site in Colorado Springs and is not eligible for remote work. However, this position may have the option to teach a class or two online synchronously or remote synchronously. Fully remote options are only available during extreme circumstances
The successful candidate will possess, and be able to demonstrate, a variety of pedagogical approaches that enhance student learning, including the use of technology inside and outside of the classroom.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with at-risk youth or school counseling, military populations, addictions counseling, rehabilitation counseling, career counseling, rural mental health services, and/or remote or distance delivery of instruction.
Earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 15, 2022
Doctorate in a closely related field (e.g., counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy) and to have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for at least a full academic year before July 1, 2013.
