What you’ll be doing...
As part of a fast paced Network and Technology organization, the “Manager, Technology Strategy” will serve as an expert emerging technology analyst.You will be responsible for technology “reconnaissance”, supporting development of technology strategies and strategic plans, and review of technical landscape, including: emerging technologies and players, protocols and new technical specifications, competition, value chain, legal and regulatory implications, and overall technology impact in the marketplace.
Leading strategic planning efforts across the Network organization, and drive multi-layer strategies from planning into one cohesive Network & Technology strategic plan.
Delivering and maintaining a strategic view of network technologies tied to business value and growth opportunities.
Develop ingnext-generation technology strategies, and partner with internal teams and leaders across Network and Technology to develop domain specific strategic plans. In addition, candidate will be providing technology support to the strategy leadership of various Verizon business units.
Interfacing extensively, and leading mini teams comprising of many functions within the various Verizon business units.
Leveraging research and analytics of the external environment to understand market dynamics (e.g., trends, size, customer needs, and competitive landscape).
Identifying new technologies for application areas such as 5G, IOT, Edge Computing, AI/ML, and AR/VR.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields, or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Willingness to travel.
Five or moreyears of experience with Technology Strategy Solutions in the wireless telecommunications, Network or IT Industry.
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree in Business or in a related field.
Three or more years of Management Consulting experience.
Extensive experience in strategy development and implementation.
Strong strategic skills, technical aptitude, interpersonal skills, program management skills, ability to influence and work effectively across other partner organizations.
Three years of experience conducting thorough Market analysis for various technology sectors and competitive Intelligence across players, competitors and the overall value chain.
Three or moreyears of Management Consulting experience.
Experience in developing business case and TCO analysis drawing tangible connections between strategy and financial-success metrics
Demonstrated knowledge of solution architecture within web and mobile environment. Knowledge of web/internet related technologies, architecture across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS and cloud productivity suites.
Advanced knowledge of wireless spectrum, cloud computing, big data and Artificial intelligence, wireless IP networking, routing & switching, mobile technologies / markets, Radio Access Networks, etc.
Detailed understanding of wireless and broadband technology standards (e.g. 3GPP, MPLS, ETSI MANO) and application / Infrastructure virtualization within a service provider network.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with specific experience packaging and presenting information to executive leadership.
