SENIOR LEAN COACH
SENIOR LEAN COACH: Reporting to the Director, Lean, the Senior Lean/PI Coach serves as an internal consultant to management, staff, and physicians in the area Lean/TPS process improvement tools/techniques, organizational development, change management, performance monitoring and statistical/analytical analysis. Analyzes assigned areas of operations for potential improvement opportunities associated with quality, safety, flow, inventory control, standardization, line balance and level loading of work. Provides expertise in successfully applying LEAN/TPS process improvement methodologies and tools associated with waste identification/elimination and creation of flow to yield significant improvements in operational metrics. This includes planning, coordination and facilitation of rapid cycle improvement events (Kaizen, RIE, etc.). Identifies Lean/Process Improvement knowledge gaps of project teams, create and conduct training in Lean principles, methods, and tools, as needed, in the appropriate format for the situation. Identifies appropriate metrics for a given process/project. Assists in the establishment of operational performance measurements and the monitoring of trends in key performance indicators to evaluate efficiency, effectiveness, quality, safety, cost, etc. using information systems data when available and developing data collection systems, tools and methods when needed. Identifies and overcomes barriers and risks that prohibit project completion and success in a timely manner. Is able to escalate issues as needed to the appropriate level for resolution. Serves as coach, facilitator, technical resource (in the areas described above) and participant on team-based improvement projects.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree; Industrial engineering, health systems engineering, healthcare administration, organizational development, a health-related profession, or a similar field of study with a strong analytical base.None Other Formal training or certification in Lean, TPS (Toyota Production System, or equivalent) as typically associated with certification in one or more of those methodologies at the black belt black belt level. Other Lean, Lean Sigma or Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years Professional Other Utilization of Lean tools and techniques, quality and/or process design and improvement methods. Utilization of change management/implementation techniques and tools, project management, facilitation and coaching of process improvement teams. 2-3 years Professional Other Supervising, leading or coaching other Process Improvement personnel and/or front line employees. Facilitation of Kaizen, RIE, or Rapid Cycle Improvement.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, strong analytical skills, able to learn other packaged software.
