40871 - Food Service Worker
The Food Service Worker is responsible for serving meals, nourishments and snacks to the clients of the Minnesota Sex Offender Program. In this role, the Food Service Worker monitors and assists client workers performing the necessary food service duties in a therapeutic environment which is safe for clients and staff. Inherent in each of these duties is compliance with regulatory standards such as the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) as well as departmental and facility-wide policies and procedures.

Job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Assembling meals so that each patient receives the correct diet; food is portioned accurately and meals look appealing
Cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, eating utensils, serving utensils, pots, and pans following protocols
Assembling continental breakfast, snacks and nourishments
Maintaining cleaning and sanitation so as to meet Minnesota Food Code Regulations
Performing other food service related tasks as assigned by supervisor so that all dietary responsibilities are accomplished as appropriate
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Working knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing food and the use of cooking utensils and large scale food service equipment
Some knowledge of food values, nutrition and food safety/infection control
Ability to
Read, write, speak English and perform basic mathematical calculations
Communicate with others in a teamwork environment.
Stand for up to 8 hours and work in a fast paced kitchen

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read menus and special diet instructions so that all needed items are available as dictated by the menu
Knowledge of health and sanitation regulations and proper cleaning methods
Familiarity with proper serving utensils
Basic understanding of human behavior and exhibit positive human relation skills
