The Campaign regularly partners with national and state-based groups, as well as leaders from diverse communities, to promote climate action, defend against attacks on the Clean Air Act and climate change policies, and showcase the unyielding transition to clean energy driven by state, local and federal action.

The Donor Communications Manager leads the organization’s production of grant reports and proposals, program storytelling, and presentations for funders and other high-level stakeholders. He/she is responsible for the development and organization of content that articulates CAC’s strategy, innovations, core capacities, tactics, and outcomes and accomplishments, tailored for specific audiences.

He/she will be expected to work independently to identify opportunities to strengthen our materials, collect information from program staff, tease out innovations in our work, and point out inconsistent information to campaign leadership. Duties include:

o Gather and distill necessary information and intelligence (issue landscape as well as plans, needs, strategies) on campaign priorities
• Manage and strengthen internal processes for content development, including soliciting input from colleagues, communicating clear needs and deadlines, and documenting approval stages.
• Ensure development materials align with campaign strategy and operational plans.
• Copy-editing and formatting of critical documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

STAKEHOLDER SUPPORT:
• Communicate the strategic vision of the campaign to staff, donors, and external stakeholders in a variety of formats, including through engaging presentations and written plans.
• Support the Campaign Director, campaign co-chairs, and other senior leaders or stakeholders in preparing for funder meetings and presentations by crafting talking points and supporting materials.
• Provide updates and share briefing materials and reports with staff and other interested parties (internally and externally), at the request of direct supervisor or the Campaign Director.
• Schedule funder presentations and other relevant meetings.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• At least 2-4 years of experience in non-profit development, grant reporting, or another writing-centered role
• Excellent communication skills, including acting as a strong, fast, and accurate writer -- with an ability to distill large volumes of information into essential toplines and display information visually
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong presentation and negotiation skills
• Overall interest in politics, news of the day, and building a strong, persuasive case to high-level funders for continued investment in the climate fight
• Demonstrated ability to manage a project through completion and meet deadlines ahead of schedule
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment, organizing time and evaluating competing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to represent organizational mission and programs
• Ability to collaborate effectively or work well as a member of a team
• Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
• An understanding of campaign finance, 501c3 and 501c4 structures and permissible activities is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with the environmental movement is a plus
