The Database Services team at the University of Notre Dame, part of the Office of Information Technologies, is looking for a new database administrator. The Database Services team supports a variety of enterprise databases platforms including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL running on Windows on Linux. They work on the ground and in the cloud, providing a responsive and stable database environment for hundreds of campus applications. There are daily opportunities to innovate, learn new tools and systems, and collaborate with other teams to develop solutions with a meaningful impact to the University. The team also supports Notre Dame's entire Enterprise Resource Planning system, Ellucian's Banner product, from the database up through the user interface. They ensure a secure, up-to-date and stable environment for our campus customers. On a day-to-day basis they will have their fingers in databases, scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell and Python,Amazon Web Services tools, and middle-tier technologies like WebLogic and Tomcat. If your skills include SQL query tuning, database backup, recovery, and maintenance this may be the job for you. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree (4 years) Experience: 3 to 4 years Degree Required: Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant field Experience/Skills Required: Experience with UNIX, Linux and Windows OS, networking concepts, Experience with UNIX shell scripting languages, SQL, PowerShell, Python. Supplemental Qualification Required: Bachelors degree plus 3-4 years experience or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS or similar
