Job Description
Director of Strategic Content Management
Reporting to and working closely with the Associate Dean for Communications and External Relations, the Director of Strategic Content Management, plans, develops and delivers strategic content to engage, influence and educate the SIPA target audience, help build the SIPA brand's narrative and advance the School's reputation.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Conceptualize, create, and deliver engaging content across formats and media, including print, email, web, social media, video, and visual graphics, and use advanced marketing tactics to maximize the reach and impact across audience segments and platforms.

Develop and establish processes for creating and distributing all content, including developing a pipeline of prioritized content and distributing created content across multiple platforms.

In collaboration with SIPA stakeholders school-wide, including key players in Faculty Affairs, Student Affairs, Career Services, and Development, among others, develop and produce SIPA annual signature publications such as the SIPA Annual Report and SIPA News. Set the editorial strategy for each issue and work closely with SIPA programs and various School's units to solicit input in a timely fashion. Manage the design, production, printing and distribution process, deploying appropriate unit staff to the effort.

Work closely with the Dean's Office and provide communications support and a timely response to critical issues as they arise. Develop and implement crisis communications as needed.

Establish guidelines, processes, and sound metrics for all digital properties (website, social, and email) and track KPIs to make informed decisions on future digital plans.

Review and implement new technologies to keep SIPA at the forefront of digital communications. Work closely with the Associate Dean in assessing best practices in the field and their possible utility in the SIPA context.

Supervise two videographers and hourly staff as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant.

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or related field and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience, including experience in strategic content management with a focus on digital platforms. Demonstrated organizational and supervisory experience essential.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant.

Deep understanding of different content channels and platforms, as well as their associated audiences and limitations, and 5+ years of experience in developing successful social media strategies and programs; Thorough proficiency in HTML, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Suite; Excellent writing, communication and self-editing skills; proven record of clear, successful communications on complex topics; A strong understanding of analytics, including the ability to identify trends, and develop effective content in response; Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple and overlapping deadlines and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience in strategic content management with a focus on digital platforms.
