Job Description
Associate Head Coach - Volleyball
The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Associate Head Coach - Volleyball. This is a full-time, 12-month position, salary commensurate, and includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is a NCAA Division I Power Five institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 24 varsity sports programs and operates under a “Win. Graduate. Do It Right.” philosophy.

The successful candidate will assist in the coaching and administration of a Division I intercollegiate volleyball program, recruit as permitted by NCAA rules, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. This position requires frequent travel, work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays, a valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) is required.
• Minimum 6 years of Division I collegiate coaching experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules
and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA;
• Proven ability to recruit national caliber student-athletes
• Superior oral and written communication skills; effective organizational and
administrative skills
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment
• Proficiency in office computer applications (such as Microsoft Office).
• Must demonstrate excellent knowledge of technique and tactical strategies in one of
the following areas: (a) offensive or (b) defensive systems.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain the University of
Iowa Driving Policy Standards

Desirable Qualifications:
• 3 years playing experience at the NCAA championship or professional level.
• Effective public relations and/or fundraising skills.
• Experience in the development and management of social media websites.
• Experience working with video analysis systems.
• Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the player
development and recruiting needs of the Iowa volleyball program.
