Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor Position in Urban Studies
The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs seeks applicants for a Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor in Urban Studies beginning January 2, 2018. The hire is for the Spring 2018 semester, with a likely reappointment for the following academic year subject to satisfactory performance and available funds. The typical teaching load for a visiting faculty member is four courses per semester. Teaching in the Summer 2018 semester may be offered through a separate contract. The newly-hired faculty member may teach undergraduate and cross-listed undergraduate/graduate courses in the following areas of need, as qualifications allow: economics of policy analysis, economic development, urban development, quantitative methods, research methods, and global urbanization. Hiring is contingent upon maintaining existing levels of funding from the state of Ohio. Offer of employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of the Universityís verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or University policies or practices, including but not limited to criminal background check.

Qualifications & Requirements o Minimum Qualifications: Masterís degree (for appointment as Visiting Instructor) or Ph.D. (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) from a program in urban studies, urban planning, geography, economics, public policy or similar degree program. Demonstrated success in college-level teaching experience that matches the needs of the Levin College.
o Preferred: Graduate level coursework in areas related to teaching needs; professional experience in fields related to teaching areas; prior experience with interactive video distance learning (IVDL) and on-line teaching formats. The ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
