CHR is the most comprehensive, non-profit behavioral healthcare provider in Connecticut, offering a wide range of personalized services for children, families and adults whose lives have been touched by mental illness, addiction or trauma. Our largest outpatient offices are in Manchester and Enfield, with smaller offices throughout central and eastern Connecticut and several community-based programs.
Today, we employ more than 800 experienced professionals, including licensed therapists, psychiatrists, child psychiatrists, case managers, and people with lived experience who provide expert care to more than 19,000 people every year. We are accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by the state and have repeatedly been voted among the Top Workplaces in Connecticut by the Hartford Courant.
CHR is a growing organization recognized and respected as one of the leading providers of behavioral health services in Connecticut. Our career opportunities include psychiatrists, APRNs, therapists, alcohol and drug counselors, administrative and management positions.
We welcome diversity and encourage bilingual/bicultural individuals to apply as well as applicants with personal recovery experience.
CHR proudly supports the growth and development of students interested in pursuing careers in behavioral health. By participating as an Intern with Community Health Resources, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, consultation, individual, couples, group, and family treatment, and medication evaluation and monitoring. *depending on the program and position selected.
CHR is committed to becoming a more just and equitable agency and recently launched a far-reaching learning collaborative focused on increasing diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) throughout the agency.
Our short-term goals include hosting a range of thought-provoking and interactive learning opportunities for all staff throughout CHR. Over the long run, our goals are to embed the principles of DE&I into the fabric of CHR’s culture. Ultimately, we would like all staff, as well as the individuals we serve, to report that they feel heard, appreciated and included in all aspects of daily life at CHR.
