Job Description

Responsible for the development and enhancement of the software that is used in the clinical laboratory to process patient samples and analyze their genomic profiles, finding the right treatment options for cancer patients based on a simple blood draw.  Manage the build and release process, including our continuous integration, and ensuring compliance with the software configuration management process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with users, product managers and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
  • Build scalable infrastructure to process and manage largescale dataset.
  • Produce detailed design and code to implement features end-end from user interface through persistent storage
  • Work on all aspects of software development in an agile environment including technical documentation, testing and deployment of features and sub-systems.
  • Work with cross functional team to support and maintain the deployed applications.
  • Evaluate, test, and use open-source software and applications

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in web application development, enhancement, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience using object-oriented programming and design patterns in production environments.
  • Proficiency in coding languages including Python, JavaScript and frameworks such as Django.
  • Proficiency in RESTful web services.
  • Experience with container platform, such as docker application running on Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge and Experience working with a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge and/or experience of test automation and continuous integration.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Service or similar cloud architecture.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Next Generation Sequencing data formats and high-performance compute scheduling system such as SGE
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Software development experience in a regulated environment preferably IVD or CLIA
