Advanced practice provider (APP) in this role will provide comprehensive guideline directed evidence based care to patients within all areas of general Cardiology independently and in collaboration with Cardiologists. This position is one of a group of Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers who respond to cardiology consult requests from within the hospital as well as from the VISN facilities. APP's in Cardiology report directly to the Chief of Cardiology, or Sub-Specialty Sectional Physician Director. The APP in this role provides care to Veterans with a wide range of cardiology issues, delivering care primarily in the outpatient setting including Cardiology follow up clinics, but also in the inpatient setting, by face to face, telephone and telemedicine visits. This role will also interact with patients within acute care, emergency department and/or the community living centers (CLC). The population served includes both male and female veterans across the adult lifespan, as well as active duty personnel. Patients managed in the Cardiology clinic by the APP may have complex co-morbidities such as hypertension, COPD, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, valvular diseases, coronary artery disease, cerebral vascular disease, auto immune disorders and renal impairment.

Annual leave shall accrue for full-time Nurses, and Nurse Anesthetists at the rate of 8 hours for each full biweekly pay period.
