A poem I wrote for my husband a few Valentines day ago (294 hits)
Happy Valentine's day guys. I am taking my hubby to a poetry reading and I am going to read this to him Anniversary, Christmas, Valentines, Mother and birthdays Those are the times a woman needs to see her man say I love you with a trinket. Even if she don’t say it out loud, you can best believe that she is thinking it.
When he came along I thought my love life was over But it had just begun No one could have told me that he was the one
I was torn up, down, and love for me would never be found He came along and showed me I was wrong, that I could still love and be loved Hard and strong
It started with a weekend in paradise That turned into 7 days We laughed, we loved in so many ways
I know he recognizes my labors of love, When I wash his drawers and into a clean bed he falls When he comes home, his food is on the stove
Anniversary, Christmas, Valentines, Mother and birthdays I can’t really *** when he forgets Because on every other day, he shows me love in his own way
When we turned on the heat or the water My beautiful children knew they had a responsible father When it rains, I don’t get wet, because over my head a roof he has set He pays for literary expense, even when it doesn’t make no dollars or sense
Anniversary, Christmas, Valentines, Mother and birthdays It’s all the days in between, that he shows me I’m his Queen Though I had to beg and plead for him to be here tonight in that seat. Our love, after twenty five years, remains steadfast and sweet
